In a move that broke hearts across the country, the Milind Soman marriage you’ve been fearing for so long happened. The former model married his girlfriend of three years, Ankita Konwar. If you’re late to the news, we’ll give you a minute to cry yourself a river.
Milind Soman isn’t just responsible for an entire generation’s sexual awakening; he’s also the forerunner of Indian male sexuality. That’s right, we said it. While the exotic Indian female is all the world ever seems to talk about, Milind Soman leveled (almost) the playing field of objectification. He introduced a type of sexy Indian male who existed outside of Bollywood. He was rugged, dusky, ripped and knew how to rock a sherwani. But now he’s married, so you can stop pretending to like running now.
It’s probably better that he got married to someone who isn’t us, though. Is fitness a lifestyle you could fake for an extended period of time? Probably not.
The couple reportedly got together after Soman spotted Ankita in a nightclub in Chennai and confessed it was love at first sight. It makes sense since they both seem to be Benjamin Buttoning. Aside from Milind’s hair turning a mature-yet sexy-yet-mature shade of grey, the former model seems perfectly preserved.
Here’s a picture of him, wet, to prove it:
Ankita Konwar also ages at a prodigiously slow rate.
She’s the one in the middle. Yes, it almost makes us want to take up running and eat fruits. Almost, let’s not do anything extreme.
The couple are clearly in love, just look at this healthy glow thing they have going on:
This is a picture from their sangeet, which took place in Alibaug. The couple’s wedding festivities were a low-key affair, with just their close friends and family in attendance. We assume they had a friendly swim-off to see who reached the weekend getaway spot (loser pays for the wedding).
So cute, we bet Milind gives her butterflies -strokes- in her stomach.
The couple kicked off their wedding with some light stretching. Which honestly makes sense because Indian wedding are a marathon.
Followed by some light cardio at the mehendi.
Ankita chose a bright yellow lehenga while Milind wore a simple white kurta-dhoti combo. They could have skipped the haldi altogether because, honestly, we see zero room for improvement with their already flawless skin.
The weekend celebrations ended with a seven round run. What’s that? Oh, they were pheras? Okay. The couple had a traditional Hindu ceremony:
The entire wedding took place at Bohemyan Blue, a design store with luxury tents and an open garden cafe in Alibaug.
The simple affair had former Indian supermodel Dipannita Sharma in attendance.
We’re not sure whether if it’s that in-love glow or the fact that the couple seems to have so much in common. But something tells us they’re in it for the long run:
