She’s been a nurse, model, ballerina and airhostess, and now Barbie has a new vocation – entrepreneur. For her latest role, the doll comes with accessories that include a smartphone and a tablet. Already on sale on Amazon, Entrepreneur Barbie will be available more widely with retailers in August.
Sure, she’s changed her career 150 times, but for her latest role, the doll has partnered with eight female entrepreneurs who call themselves her ‘Chief Inspirational Officers’ and include the founders of Rent the Runway, One Kings Lane, Girls Who Code, Plum Alley, Genuine Insights Inc, The TomKat Studio and Rosie O’ Neill.
And here’s where it gets interesting. These Chief Inspirational Officers will interact with young girls via an online portal, and have already started giving advice using the hashtag #BarbieChat on Twitter. Barbie also has her own LinkedIn page. Beauty with brains – it can’t get better than this.
