Beauty cheats: Fake it till you feel it
Who says you have to be born with Bambi eyes, contoured cheeks and a plump pout?

From Emma Stone’s XL eyes to Sonam Kapoor’s perfect brows, we give you the inside dope on how to get your favourite celeb’s signature feature. In the absence of those blessed genes, these beauty cheat will come handy.
Priyanka Chopra’s plump pout
Although Piggy Chops is blessed with naturally full lips, it’s not difficult for the less endowed to fake it to some extent, if you spend some time prepping them. Use a lip scrub, or just mix a spoonful of ground oats with sugar and rub your lips till the dry bits are scrubbed off and softened. What this also does is increase blood circulation and therefore, plump up your lips temporarily. Follow with a lip plumping gloss if you really want to go all out (caution: they sting), or your lip liner. If you’re a novice and trying this just before heading out, do not overdraw – the line between enhanced and clown-face is really thin and you’ll need to practise before you get it down pat. Just follow your natural shape, fill in with lip colour (choose cream or top with gloss: it will make them look fuller) and you’re good to go.

Emma Stone’s big eyes
This one’s a doozy. All you need is white pencil liner, black (or dark) liquid liner, loads of mascara and relatively steady hands. Rim your waterline with the white pencil on the top and bottom lid. With the liquid liner, create an elongated wing on top, sticking as close to the lashes as you can, and repeat on the bottom lid. Finish with two to three coats of mascara, pushing the wand in for a few seconds each time you reach the tips of the lashes for a curling effect.
Lancôme Artliner, Rs 2,320
Lakmé Eyeconic White, Rs 250
Maybelline New York Falsies Big Eyes Mascara, Rs 599

Sonam Kapoor’s perfect arches
To start with, you definitely need a person who understands your face shape and threads your brows accordingly. Once the groundwork is done, you can tweeze any extras if necessary. To shape, use a small, stiff angled brush with dark brown eyeshadow (avoid black as it can end up looking unnatural), and using short, feathered strokes in the direction of growth, fill in any gaps and define the edges. A bit of highlighter just below the brows, on the bone, will help add definition.
