Bengaluru hosts ELLE’s Carnival for a Cause
Guilt-free retail therapy never felt so good
Bengaluru played host to the ELLE Carnival for a Cause – a philanthropic initiative wrapped up in pink to generate awareness about breast cancer. Held at the stately Taj West End, the evening witnessed the city’s swish set in attendance.
Designer wear from some of our favourite Indian designers, including Sabyasachi, Rajesh Pratap Singh, Tarun Tahiliani, Pankaj & Nidhi, Gaurav Gupta and Namrata Joshipura, amongst others, were up for grabs at staggering discounts. Luxury labels like Louis Vuitton, Hermès, Christian Louboutin, Le Meridien Al Aqah, Al Maha and Chanel contributed to the silent auction with all proceeds from the sales going to Ogaan Cancer Foundation.
There were antipasti, fritto misto, crostini, cupcakes and macarons to nibble on, and deliciously fresh Peroni, Sula and Grey Goose cocktails to wash them down with. Live music by Bengaluru-based artistes, Joshua Paulmer and Avinash Grubb had guests dancing, while a tarot card reader, coffee cup reader and angel guidance expert predicted carnival goers’ future (we predict lots more shopping!). Nail art and a photo studio kept the evening fun and creative.
We spotted Rita Morris, Pollyana Patel, Shaheen Amrolia, Kallol Datta, Shubha Sunil, Anusha Raj and Yogesh Aurora to name a few.
After Delhi and Bengaluru, the ELLE carnival for a Cause will make its final stop for the year in Mumbai on May 18. Make sure to mark your calendar!
