All the beauty updates from the week that was.
The outlandish
Painted blue and white faces, plenty of pins tucked in half-done hair, and fringed bobs were seen at Maison Margiela. Jean Paul Gaultier’s blue winged eyes and wet matted hair were not far behind on the eccentricity scale. And then there was Chanel’s razor-sharp jet black bob, finished off with super-bold eyebrows and flush pink cheeks that added to the futuristic note this couture week.

The barely-there
Ponytails were a highlight at the shows. Whether low, mid, pushed-back or middle parted – ponytails complemented barely-there make-up, and helped keep all eyes on the clothes. The frontrunners? Dior, Giambattista Valli, Viktor & Rolf, and Fendi.

The royals
Tiaras, wreaths, braided jewels in the hair – fashion week felt very regal. Atelier Versace’s crowned wreaths (much like the ones you’d see on a Grecian woman), Elie Saab’s army of golden girls wearing copper hair accessories and winged liners were not far behind, and then there were Alberta Ferretti’s braided beauties with French knots and sparkles.
