If you weren’t already craving a summer holiday, then pictures of the best island in the world, as voted by the travelling public, might just push you over the edge. The title awarded by Travel + Leisure as part of their World’s Best Survey takes into account travellers’ reviews of islands including ratings for available activities and sights, natural attractions, beaches, food, how friendly the locals are, as well as overall value.
So the fact that Palawan Island in the Phillippines has taken the top spot shows that this place seriously isn’t messing.
Travel + Leisure readers described the island as “the single most beautiful place on earth”, and rated Palawan well for its rustic nature, affordability and romantic scenery.
Yeah, we can see what they mean, TBH.
Surrounding the main island, visitors can boat hop to the 1,800 approx surrounding islets, floating on the tropical, turquoise sea which boasts some of the best scuba diving spots in the world.
