Best of Day 4 at Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2015

On the Day 4 of LFW, designers brought out a bustling mix of patterns from mellow to super-bold.

Pankaj & Nidhi dropped their usual pretty for something more graphic – architectural, Op Art prints etched in neon. But it wasn’t all edgy; the duo also brought a few kaleidoscopic florals and cutwork in to the mix.

Verandah by Anjali Patel Mehta did modern-meets-retro turn. Vivid motifs of nature blended with geometric shapes across billowing kaftans, matchy tunic + pants sets and pussy-bow blouses tucked into denim flares.

Pretty was the key word at Payal Singhal’s show as the opening look set the tone – in peachy pink, with simplified floral motifs. Elevating the look even further, sequinned panels in the same print kept it somewhere between crisp and fluid.

Gingham was put under a magnifying glass at Urvashi Joneja’s presentation.  Nothing like The Wizard of Oz’s Dorothy’s blue dress. The asymmetric hemline, broad pleats and white canvas made sure of that.

Suneet Varma went for major texture play with rich garden prints and mirror work. Already have your next wedding invitation? Trade the choli for a boxy white shirt, just for kicks.
