6 bizarre beauty treatments celebrities swear by
Victoria Beckham’s face cream has her blood in it
Celebrities go far and beyond to ensure they look their very best—they don’t just stick to basic skincare rituals that us average folk are used to. Oh no, celebrity beauty is often OTT and, sometimes, even quite strange. This time around, Victoria Beckham outdid herself (remember the bird-poop facial?) by purchasing a custom-made cream that contains her blood. Yes, her actual blood.
On her Instagram stories, Posh Spice posted an image of the cream captioned, “Dr Sturm took my blood and created healing factors made by my own cells, which is highly anti-inflammatory and regenerative.
“I’ll be testing it out this week both morning and night!”
This is not the first time a star has treated their skin with something weird. Don’t believe us? Take a look at the weird beauty treatments celebrities have opted for:
Simon Cowell's sheep placenta facial
Women aren’t the only ones daring enough to indulge in, well, interesting skin treatments. American Idol judge, Simon Cowell undergoes a sheep placenta facial every now and then. The stem cells are taken from specially reared sheep in New Zealand and are then spread across the face. It’s supposed to take years off!
Gwyneth Paltrow's vaginal steam
When it comes to weird, we had to include the queen of quirky, Gwyneth Paltrow—after all she was courageous enough to try out vaginal steaming. Apparently, steaming your coochie balances your hormones, maintains your health, and somehow, keeps skin looking youthful and healthy.
Kate Beckinsale's penis facial
Brace yourselves, because this one takes the cake—Beckinsale’s glowing youthful skin is all thanks to the foreskin facial! You read right…the FORESKIN facial. Paints a pretty picture doesn’t it? This particular facial uses a serum made from the stem cells taken from the foreskins of Korean babies. We’re really speechless!
Sandra Bullock's butt cream
The Bird Box star uses hemorrhoid cream to get rid of her wrinkles. Yes, butt cream. Apparently the ointment helps smooth out fine lines and makes the skin look a lot more even. Even Kim K’s make-up artist vouches for it! Talk about blurring the lines.
Kim Kardashian-West's vampire facial
KKW started the trend of the “vampire” facial, a treatment that involves drawing blood, spinning it in a machine to remove platelets, and then injecting it into the face. This stimulates collagen production and helps in reduction of fine lines, scarring, and the visibility of pores.
