3 Bollywood celebrities who prove that style and grace comes with age

Bollywood is a critical industry where even one noticeable flaw in an actor’s dress or speech is called out and ridiculed. Which is why, it’s no wonder that celebrities are under such pressure to look good all the time. This can go two ways—either they lose their individuality altogether, or discover their innate style.

In our eyes, there are three leading women of Bollywood who have completely redefined their sartorial sensibilities over the years: Karisma Kapoor, Shweta Bachchan-Nanda and Sridevi.

Karisma launched her career in Bollywood when she was merely 16 years old. In these 27 years, the actress has made her signature look downright elegant, whether she’s wearing internationally-acclaimed designers like Narciso Rodriguez and Hervé Leger or designers closer to home like Manish Malhotra and Rahul Mishra. Flip through the gallery to see her style evolution:

Though Shweta has steered clear of the big screen, she is a regular attendee of fashion weeks, where she has also taken to the ramp. She has openly said that she was an awkward and shy girl while growing up, but one look at her today will make you believe otherwise. Her tall and lithe frame is her asset, which makes her look simply graceful in those Manish Malhotra and Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla ensembles. Have a look below:

Meanwhile, Sridevi, who returned from a long sabbatical with her movie English Vinglish in 2012, gave us a big surprise with a complete style makeover. From Elie Saab evening gowns to Sabyasachi saris, Sridevi has kept up with fashion and stayed relevant with the times. We think she has her millennial daughter Jhanvi to thank for it—or is it the other way round? Take a look at the gallery and see for yourself:
