Anushka Sharma, Katrina Kaif and other stars shared hilarious personal stories this Mother’s Day
"I still remember how my mom hunted down affordable heels during my modelling days," says Anushka
You probably shouldn’t need a designated Hallmark holiday to remind your mother just how amazing she is, but we never said the world was perfect. As social media continues to take over our lives, Anushka Sharma, Katrina Kaif and more rushed to Instagram to shower their mothers with love on Mother’s Day (before hopefully replicating it in IRL.) Here are the mushiest ones that will make you feel guilty for not calling your mom back.
Anushka, Sonam and more shared the best throwback photos on Mother’s Day
Shraddha took some time out from her promotions schedule for Half Girlfriend to make her (uncanny lookalike of a) mom feel special: “My mommy. My best friend. The wind beneath my wings. My everything. I love you more than words can express. Thank you for being you.”
Anyone who knows Deepika knows that she isn’t much of a talker on social media. But this adorable (if somewhat blurry) throwback photo is her way of thanking her mother of standing by her during the tough times.
“My mother had a great deal of trouble with me but I think she enjoyed it,” admitted a tongue-in-cheek Sonam. If you listen hard enough, you can probably hear your mother sending out an amen.
“I got it from my mama,” Alia specified, in case you were wondering where the ability to turn the camera to mush each time comes from.
Being a struggling model in the cutthroat world of glamour is never easy, but it sure helps to have your mom squarely on your side. “She sewed me a dress for a school play, individually stitching each sequence on to it because we couldn't afford the fee being asked for it from school. She went from shop to shop with me to buy the best but still affordable pair of heels during my modelling days. She looked at the right side (price) of the menu before the left one,” raved Anushka on Instagram along with a throwback photo.
Sister Rhea was quick to join in the PDA too. “Happy Mother's Day to the women who shaped my spirit; my mother and her mother. You've taught me to love, to work, to be kind, to be of value and to embrace life. Most importantly both have taught me to be fearless in living my life on my own terms and that can only be taught by example,” she concluded.
“My most favourite memory of my childhood was always dancing with my mother. To the strongest woman I know!” gushed Instagram newbie Katrina. Yep, she was definitely destined to rule the dance number charts.
