10 Bollywood star kids whose careers we’re going to be watching

Who is the next-gen Lolo and Bebo?

By ELLE team  November 10th, 2017

The hype around Bollywood star kids starts before you’re born. With your parents constantly in the spotlight, you’re bound to end up basking in some peripheral glow. Especially since time and a rock-solid gene pool have proven that if you’re born into a film family, it’s more than likely that you’ll be launched into your first film by your famous parent, date/marry a contemporary and create a new generation of starlets for adoring fans to fawn over. Cue Anil Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan, who went from being second generation stars to proud parents of star kids.

In the age of Instagram, this frenzied phenomenon has only been heightened. We know where Shah Rukh khan’s son is studying. What Akshay Kumar’s kid is wearing. Where Saif Ali Khan’s daughter likes to eat and who Sridevi’s kids hang out with. We also know there’s a whole new gang of star kids — from Chunkey Pandey’s nephew Ahaan to Sanjay Kapoor’s daughter Shanaya — who’ve emerged from the 1 degree of separation that is Bollywood’s tightly-knit inner circles. So it’s natural that with baited breath, we wait for their on-screen debuts.

10 star kids whose film debuts we can’t wait for:

Ahaan Panday

Ahaan Panday is the son of Chikki and Deanne Panday, making him the nephew of Chunky Pandey. One look at his Instagram profile proves that Ahaan has Bollywood in his blood. He keeps his 133K followers entertained with Bollywood lip syncs and high octane dance moves, not unlike Ranveer Singh. His inner circle includes Shah Rukh's son while cousin Ananya Pandey, who is currently forming her own next-gen girl gang with Suhana Khan and Shanaya Kapoor, also makes regular features on his Instagram. Ahaan also seems to have taken his future in the industry into his own hands by working on his body, his facial expressions and regularly brushing up on filmi trivia. If Ahaan Pandey is the future of Bollywood, we're here for it.

Khushi Kapoor

Janhvi and Khushi were all the internet could talk about after mom Sridevi posted pictures of them on a family vacation to her Instagram audience. The stylish sisters soon started popping up on everyone-who-is-anyone's social media feeds. The girls could be the next Lolo and Bebo, they already have the surname, not to mention the bag collection. They're also hanging out with Manish Malhotra while sporting his custom-made creations, not unlike the original Kapoor sisters. The two regularly set trends and are seen hanging out at Bollywood's hottest parties. With the paparazzi already watching their every move, it's time Khushi made her debut, since Janhvi's already proven her mettle with Dhadak.

Aryan Khan

Imagine having a dad so famous that you walk into a room and people already know who your parents are... That's right, Aryan Khan, heir apparent to King of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan's empire, spends most of his time between Mumbai, London and California — where he is reportedly studying — away from the paparazzi's invasive lens. Aryan looks exactly like Shah Rukh Khan down to his pouty selfie face and messy hair. But his attitude seems to be in tune with the other next-gen actors of his generation. Aryan's Instagram account has cleaned up as of a year ago to mirror selfies and pictures with his mom, Gauri Khan. With currently only 19 posts on Instagram, the kid already has a 585k strong following and a verified profile. We can't wait to see what numbers he does on the first day at the box office.

Sara Ali Khan

Saif Ali Khan's daughter with his ex-wife Amrita Singh is already famous, and she doesn't even have a movie out. But that's expected when you're Bollywood royalty... and royalty in general. Sara has been spotted around cafes in Bandra frequented by Bollywood's actresses, she's been sporting Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla creations at A-list events and she's even been linked to other Bollywood stars. Naturally, she's also been spotted at parties with step-mom Kareena Kapoor and aunt Soha Ali Khan, attracting a fan following with her understated approach to red carpet beauty and fabulous taste in footwear.

Aaliyah Kashyap

Anurag Kashyap's daughter is all about street styling, but she's more Gangs of New York than Gangs of Wasseypur. Aaliyah Kashyap is besties with Khushi Kapoor and the two can be seen taking over most Instagram frames. From what we gather, Aaliyah is not too different from her dad and will probably end up being behind the camera rather than in front of it. She's only 16, so she probably won't be making any mobster movies but maybe a rom-com starring her best friends — think PG 13 Sex and the City.

Ananya Pandey, Suhana Khan and Shanaya Kapoor

These three ladies will probably make their debut alongside each other just because they seem to be inseparable. It's no surprise Shah Rukh Khan's daughter, Suhana's besties are both star kids. That's right, Ananya Pandey is none other than Chunky Pandey's daughter — all part of one big Bolly gang. Shanaya is Sanjay Kapoor's daughter which makes her first cousins with Khushi and Jhanvi Kapoor and also Sonam, Arjun and Harshvardhan Kapoor. That's right all these ladies have some serious lineage. With the paparazzi stalking their every move, they could be the next girl gang on the block. Let's not forget when Khushi and Jhanvi link up with them, they've got Kareena and Karisma's Valentino pumps to fill.

Aarav Bhatia

If it wasn't for that family photo which is a dead giveaway, one might wonder who Aarav Bhatia is. The offspring of Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna is the perfect balance of Bollywood genes. Aarav, however, keeps a low profile, like he may just spring his career on us tomorrow or never (But we really hope it's tomorrow). Aarav is athletic, we gather from Twinkle's Instagram. He also seems to spend a lot of downtime with the family and is almost averse to any form of media coverage. Aarav may be following in the footsteps of Tiger Shroff, in this sense. We'll just have to wait and see
