This saw him change his routine completely, with a disciplined diet (which avoided gluten, wheat, cold drinks and desserts) and one-and-a-half-hour long workouts in the gym, which include a combination of weights and cardio exercises. His girlfriend, Anushka Sharma, is a self-proclaimed fitness freak who is addicted to yoga and dance (she dances for half an hour everyday), which she says rejuvenates her mind and makes her more flexible. A firm believer of calisthenics, Akshay steers clear of picking up weight in the gym, and prefers exercises like walking, kickboxing, shadow boxing, yoga, swimming, trekking and playing basketball. His wife Twinkle reflects his ideologies and stays away from the gym—long walks where she can meditate and soak up some fresh air, along with a dedicated yoga routine, are her thing.
