Bombay Electric, housed in a heritage building in Mumbai, is as much a popular haunt for its décor (original tree-sized teak beams – a gift from the King of Burma) as it is for its offbeat selection of RTW designer wear (from Manish Arora and Aneeth Arora to NorBlackNorWhite and their in-house brand Ghee Butter). But if you can’t physically make it to the store, you now have the option to shop the selection, curated by founder and creative director Priya Kishore, from the comfort of your home.
Nine years after the launch of the Mumbai store, Bombay Electric’s new e-store has everything you can find at the Apollo Bunder outpost – we spotted scarves from Kundalini Arts and jewellery from Auntera and even their vintage brass tiffins. Neatly divided into seven categories – Men, Women, Scarves, Jewels, Books & music, Vintage and Gifts – the website offers worldwide shipping (with free delivery across India) and the option to return your purchase within 14 days of receipt. We particularly liked the gifting section, which offers options of eco-friendly kidswear – Taxiwallah PJs from Forty Red Bangles – and art prints by Meera Sethi, and foresee spending our entire lunch break shopping online.
