All the bridal trends we spotted at India Couture Week 2020

India’s first-ever digital fashion week, India Couture Week 2020 came to an end last week. The six-day long virtual event by the FDCI (Fashion Design Council of India) showcased the talent of twelve designers from the fashion fraternity. We certainly enjoyed the experience of watching it from our home this season. Furthermore, the couture week came at the right time as September marks the beginning of the bridal season. Keeping in mind the global pandemic, the designers took into consideration that the planning for Indian weddings has undergone alterations, including finalising the bridal trousseau. Brides are still looking forward to trends even though weddings have become intimate in these trying times. Having said that, of course we spotted trends for the upcoming bridal season. To all brides-to-be and her immediate attendees, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.

1. The classic reds

The couture shows proved that you can never go wrong with red while deciding your colour palette, and we couldn’t agree more.

2. Tone-on-tone lehengas

Make way for minimal tone-on-tone ensembles if you’ll be opting for lehenga sets. Sometimes, keeping it simple makes the maximum impact.

3. 3D Blouses

If you like to experiment, opt for three-dimensional blouses and stand out in the crowd. These pieces include applique work or structural motifs sewn on the fabrics. You’ll be surprised how stunning it can make you look.

4. Heavy chokers

Whether you want to wear it as a single piece or layer it with long necklaces, a statement choker has become a quintessential and trendy adornment in wedding wear.

5. Cape dupattas

The classic cape dupatta drape is still very much in. Why shouldn’t it be? It always gives a clean, sophisticated look. You can either belt it or let it fall from both your shoulders to add flare.
