5 couples the internet really wants to see
Despite the fact that they are, well, not together

Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol
Shahjol or Kajukh?
Perhaps the most loved onscreen couple in Bollywood is Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol. After debuting their ship with Bazigar, they went on to star in six movies together, including Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge that cemented their status as the OG ship in India.

If only they ended up together in RL
Shah Rukh-Kajol shippers live in denial of the fact that both of them are married to other people and continue to live in the hope that Raj-Simran becomes a reality soon.

Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio
Kleo or Winsprio?
Rose and Jack will go on and on... at least that’s what the internet would like you to believe. Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio, who are really good friends in real life, have fans and shippers confused about why they won’t date each other. After all, Leo did gave up his life so that Kate might survive on the wooden plank THAT ShOULD HAVE SUPPORTED THEM BOTH.
*deep breath*
why can't leonardo dicaprio and kate winslet just be together like the two of you are single wtf are u doing i'm mad

The duo has talked about the love (platonic, calm down) they have for each other and has gushed about their friendship more often than our shipper heart could take. They have even gone on record to state that they will not date each other. But if movies have taught us anything, it’s that friendship is the first step to love. So, you know, they’re basically in love.
i also hope this is the year kate winslet and leonardo dicaprio stop playing around and finally get together

Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone
Rymma or Gostone?
If we didn’t have proof of how much Ryan Gosling loves his wife Eva Mendes, we would have agreed that Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone need to be together, and contributed with some fan fiction too.

The ship gained momentum after their performance in La La Land, although it has been going strong ever since we saw them doing the Dirty Dancing routine in Crazy Stupid Love.

Zayn Malik and Deepika Padukone
ZayPika or Malukone?
Aside from them both being of Asian origin, unrealistically good looking and having legions of adoring fans, Zayn Malik and Deepika Padukone don’t have much in common. Also note the fact that they are both in relationships with two unrealistically good-looking humans (Gigi Hadid and Ranveer Singh, in case you haven’t had contact with the real world in the past year). But internet doesn’t need much to build their castles in the sky, and so they did. And how.

#ZayPika trended on Twitter, when fan-made videos and rather brilliantly doctored images of the two went viral. Some fans even insisted that they should be cast in the live action remake of Alladin (which wouldn’t be the worst thing). Soon enough, fan fiction followed.

Emma Watson and Joseph Gordon-Levitt
Emmitt or Levson?
It was ship at first sight for fans around the world when Emma Watson and Joseph Gordon-Levitt made an onstage appearance together to present an Oscar in 2014. Before you start debating the logic of this, let us stop you right there: The internet wants what it wants. It is useless to note that while Emma Watson is reportedly single, JGL has been married for about 2 years now.
can the Twitter magically turn JGL & Emma Watson into a real couple y/n

To be fair, the two looked amazing together and their status as one of the nicest celebrities in the world kind of made it logical for people to start shipping them hard.

Internet is a wild and wonderful gift that keeps on giving. When it’s not amusing us with memes featuring every possible thing under the sky, it’s trying to set up celebrities or fictional characters because reality is clearly overrated. Shipping, as the kids call it, is a practice that sees people rallying together online to get their favourite celebrities (or characters) romantically involved.
This term is also used to express fanatic adoration for a couple that already exists.
Short for ‘relationships’, a ship may consist of two people who are dating for real, or two people that the internet wants to see together. These ships are often assigned names too, not unlike Brangelina (Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie) or Bennifer (Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez/Garner).
These mostly results in over-analyzed Tumblr posts, fan-made videos, fan fiction and shipping wars too (you really don’t want to get into it, trust us).
Internet ships are intense and hugely entertaining, so we’ve rounded up (in the gallery above) the celebrities who've been 'shipped' the most, despite not actually being together.
