At Delhi’s premier Japanese restaurant, Wasabi by Morimoto, you can expect to be seduced with authentic flavours and some serious sushi action. So what better time to get down with gyoza than by joining in the celebrations of the 105th Cherry Blossom festival, featuring a Sakura-flavoured gourmet menu crafted by Chef Amit Patra.
We couldn’t help but book ourselves a table, where our culinary escape began with an amuse bouche flavoured with mango and avocado, and decorated with sakura blossoms sourced all the way from Japan. Disappearing down our gullets as quickly as they arrived was an array of appetizers from avocado rolls and sakura tempura to silicon tofu that delivered a melt-in-the-mouth texture.
We recommend you save space for the Goma Salmon as your main course, complemented with Sakura sauce and black puffed rice. And right before you slip into a food coma, use any energy you have left to devour a dessert of Sakura macaroons and ice-cream laid over white chocolate soil. The wisest decision we made that day.
