Combat stretch marks, sagging and everything in between

Your curves are protected from all that your face is exposed to, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have their share of issues. Dr Kiran Lohia, a New Delhi-based dermatologist, says, “You would be surprised how many men and women feel concerned about their breasts and butts!” Dr Jaishree Sharad, Mumbai-based cosmetic dermatologist, says, “One in every 20 women comes to me for these areas. Stretch marks on both breasts and buttocks; acne, boils and discolouration due to friction on the bum; sagging; etc, are common worries.” She suggests these solutions:

1. Stretch marks

Massage with Bio-Oil and Cicatrix cream twice a day for six months. Monthly radiofrequency microneedling treatment combined with Exilis skin tightening for a total of six to eight sessions also helps.

2. Sagging

Non-surgical skin tightening with Exilis, massages and exercise helps; and if all else fails, surgery is an option.

3. Discolouration

In the breast area, it could be a result of an allergic reaction to a bra or a perfume, while on the butt, it’s usually due to friction. Skin lightening creams, chemical peels such as glycolic and milk peel will help lighten the pigmentation in both cases.

4. Hair and ingrowths

Laser hair removal works great if the hair is dark and coarse.

5. Acne and boils

These could be due to a number of reasons —hormonal or otherwise, so it’s best to consult with a doctor for treatment.
