Rumours have been rife for a while about Proenza Schouler’s Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez wanting to branch out with their own fragrance. And now we know for certain. The design duo have sealed the deal with beauty giant L’ Oreal, who have previously collaborated on perfume lines with Giorgio Armani, Ralph Lauren, YSL and Viktor & Rolf.
From their graduating collection at Parsons School of Design (it would go on to become the brand’s first official offering), Proenza has always been known for its downtown cool meets uptown elegance – strong grunge and militarised accents blunted gently by classic tweeds and soft chiffons – plus textures, lots and lots of textures.
So we’re wondering how on earth they’re going to say all of that in a bottle. A body of musk and spice with hints of peppermint and wildflowers maybe? Cannot wait.
