Having spent over 25 years building his empire in the Indian fashion industry, the designer is a treasure trove of fashion trivia and inspiration. He shares some of his favourites.

Tarun: I love Sakti Burman, Lucian Freud’s portraits, David Hockney for collages, Georgio O’Keefe’s flowers and V.S. Gaitonde’s abstracts.
The most fashionable destination in the world and why?
Tarun: Rome, as the people are naturally sexy and rooted in their culture

Tarun: Abhishek Gupta’s remixes or Gaurav Raina’s classical music.
The fashion myth you’re happy to have busted?
Tarun: That you have to wear physically heavy clothes to look grand. I think we have busted that myth.
