Culottes have returned with a higher purpose – servicing the Spring/Summer 2014 runways. Originally designed to look like a skirt when women went horseback riding or cycling, culottes are currently the coolest way to beat the heat. And it seems that Victoria Beckham, 3.1 Phillip Lim and Mulberry agree. From leather to patchwork, floral print to basic black, some of our favourite fashion houses are reprising culottes this season. ELLE shows you how to take them from day to night
Take boxy culottes a step further – pair them with a square top. Slip into a pair of comfortable leather sandals and add an understated clutch and minimalist accessories to complete the look.
