And the annual Umang celebrations, hosted by the Mumbai Police, proved to be no different. From Deepika Padukone to Kangana Ranaut, the stars chose to forgo their obsession with princess ballgowns, choosing exquisite saris from their favourite designers instead.
You already know Deepika’s obsession with Sabysachi — the first designer purchase the Padmavati actress ever made was from Sabyasachi — so it came as no surprise that she chose a sheer black sari paired with a long-sleeved embroidered blouse that showed off her taut midriff.
Kangana Ranaut declared her love for handloom in a Sabyasachi Kanjeevaram sari, worn with a decadent choker necklace from the designer’s fine jewellery line. Shilpa Shetty Kundra opted for an unexpected metallic Kiran Uttam Ghosh design.
