It’s T-2 days for the Deepika Padukone Ranveer Singh wedding and celebrations are already underway. The couple left for Lake Como, Italy, three days ago and have arrived at the gorgeous Villa del Balbianello resort where they will be tying the knot.
Deepika and Ranveer were twinning at the airport as they headed to Italy. Clearly, the couple that slays together, stays together…
The beautiful property, with its stunning interiors, is a sight for sore eyes. Surrounded by lush green mountains and a serene lake, it is straight out of a fairytale — just like this wedding!

A mehendi/sangeet ceremony is expected today, while the wedding is scheduled for November 14 and 15. The couple will host two receptions — one in Bengaluru on November 21 and one in Mumbai on November 28 — for your fill of red carpet looks.
Last week, the bride-to-be was in her home-town with close friends and family for a Nandi Pooja. The ceremony is performed to ensure the wedding goes off without any conflict, and to bless the couple with good health and prosperity. For the pooja, Deepika chose a saffron kurta and dupatta that her stylist, Shaleena Nathani, paired with cream pants and statement jhumkas, all by Sabyasachi.
Meanwhile, the Sindhi groom, Ranveer participated in a Haldi ceremony.

According to a report in Mid-Day the celebration will be a four-day-long affair at Lake Como. A source was quoted saying, “Since Deepika is a South Indian and Ranveer is of Sindhi-Punjabi origin, the two families decided to follow customs practised by both communities. A South Indian wedding has been planned for November 14, complete with Kannadiga rituals. The next day will see the couple solemnise their relationship as per the customs of a North Indian wedding (Anand Karaj).”
After their holiday in the Maldives earlier this year, the couple announced the news to their respective parents, Prakash and Ujjala Padukone, and Jagjit Singh and Anju Bhavnani. Ranveer’s parents apparently gifted Deepika a sari by Sabyasachi to mark the occasion which, as you may know from our video, is her favourite designer. And given that he’s Bollywood’s go-to wedding designer, we’re almost certain that Deepika will also be a Sabya bride.
In case you’re keeping count, this is the fourth major Indian wedding this year after Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja, Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma, and Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta.
Despite being at the top of their game and, essentially, ruling Bollywood, the couple is keeping things intimate — very few people are invited to the wedding. The report says that Deepika wants Shah Rukh Khan and Farah Khan (who launched her with Om Shanti Om), present on her big day. The couple are also keen to have their mentors Aditya Chopra and Sanjay Leela Bhansali by their side.
