Deepika Padukone Ranveer Singh wedding: The celebrations have begun!
It's going to be a BIG bash
It’s T-2 days for the Deepika Padukone Ranveer Singh wedding and celebrations are already underway. The couple left for Lake Como, Italy, three days ago and have arrived at the gorgeous Villa del Balbianello resort where they will be tying the knot.
Deepika and Ranveer were twinning at the airport as they headed to Italy. Clearly, the couple that slays together, stays together…
The beautiful property, with its stunning interiors, is a sight for sore eyes. Surrounded by lush green mountains and a serene lake, it is straight out of a fairytale — just like this wedding!

A mehendi/sangeet ceremony is expected today, while the wedding is scheduled for November 14 and 15. The couple will host two receptions — one in Bengaluru on November 21 and one in Mumbai on November 28 — for your fill of red carpet looks.
Last week, the bride-to-be was in her home-town with close friends and family for a Nandi Pooja. The ceremony is performed to ensure the wedding goes off without any conflict, and to bless the couple with good health and prosperity. For the pooja, Deepika chose a saffron kurta and dupatta that her stylist, Shaleena Nathani, paired with cream pants and statement jhumkas, all by Sabyasachi.
Meanwhile, the Sindhi groom, Ranveer participated in a Haldi ceremony.

According to a report in Mid-Day the celebration will be a four-day-long affair at Lake Como. A source was quoted saying, “Since Deepika is a South Indian and Ranveer is of Sindhi-Punjabi origin, the two families decided to follow customs practised by both communities. A South Indian wedding has been planned for November 14, complete with Kannadiga rituals. The next day will see the couple solemnise their relationship as per the customs of a North Indian wedding (Anand Karaj).”
After their holiday in the Maldives earlier this year, the couple announced the news to their respective parents, Prakash and Ujjala Padukone, and Jagjit Singh and Anju Bhavnani. Ranveer’s parents apparently gifted Deepika a sari by Sabyasachi to mark the occasion which, as you may know from our video, is her favourite designer. And given that he’s Bollywood’s go-to wedding designer, we’re almost certain that Deepika will also be a Sabya bride.
In case you’re keeping count, this is the fourth major Indian wedding this year after Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja, Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma, and Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta.
Despite being at the top of their game and, essentially, ruling Bollywood, the couple is keeping things intimate — very few people are invited to the wedding. The report says that Deepika wants Shah Rukh Khan and Farah Khan (who launched her with Om Shanti Om), present on her big day. The couple are also keen to have their mentors Aditya Chopra and Sanjay Leela Bhansali by their side.

Shilpa opted for a pre-draped sari gown by Tarun Tahiliani for her big day. Shilpa has been a muse to the designer for a long time and even a showstopper at a number of his shows. But let's be honest — there's no better place to be a showstopper than at your own wedding.
Soha Ali Khan turned Sabyasachi's 'Million Flower Lehenga' into a wedding classic. "Soha Ali Khan knew what she wanted to wear for her wedding. It was my showstopper lehenga from my Opium collection." Sabyasachi recalls in an Instagram post, revealing how she got her hands on her dream outfit. But Sharmila Tagore insisted on tweaking the lehenga in her vision which instantly shot the piece to a bridal classic.
Marrying a Bollywood star was just the beginning of the fairytale for Mira Rajput and she had multiple fairy god-designers helping her dream become a reality. For her wedding, she wore this Anamika Khanna lehenga with two dupattas, one worn over her head and the other draped as a half sari
The queen of Bollywood, Kareena Kapoor Khan may have worn Sharmila Tagore's gharara — the same one Saif's mother wore at her own 'nikaah' — restored by Ritu Kumar for her wedding, but for the after-party, she wore a deep red lehenga by her best friend. That's right, Kareena Kapoor Khan put on her most significant Manish Malhotra ensemble till date, her wedding lehenga.
Tarun Tahiliani didn't just design the sari gown for Shilpa's reception, the designer also custom-made her actual wedding ensemble.
For her post-wedding party, Mira got Anamika to whip up another dream creation. Simpler and easier to bust out those Bollywood moves in.
Bipasha Basu had a blowout of a wedding and managed to get it right at every single function. For her mehendi, Bipasha went full Barbie princess in a pink Anushree Reddy creation
But while most brides are pictured blushing under their dupattas, Bipashu brought her charisma to her Sabyasachi ensembles on her wedding day. Here she is tearing up the dance floor at her wedding reception in an all gold and off-white Sabysachi creation.
While she went with the young designer for her floral function , Bips decided to go with a wedding staple for the actual marriage. Basu was a classic Sabyasachi bride in a gold and red lehenga.
After her Anamika Khanna fairytale in Gurgaon, Mira Rajput got Bollywood favourite Manish Malhotra to design her lehenga for the celebrity-studded event in Mumbai.
