Deepika Padukone’s off-shoulder top is supremely affordable!

In September last year we told you about Cord, a label on the rise by Delhi-based designers Pranav Guglani and Neha Singh, because we simply couldn’t get over their half-moon bags or even their leather-and-canvas backpacks. Recently, the accessory label launched a line of clothing – and it was first worn by Deepika Padukone, no less. (PS: She teamed it with statement earrings we wanted to steal!

“Clothing was always part of the plan,” says Singh. “We just thought we’d build our brand first, and then introduce it.” After about six months of sampling and research, the duo came up with a Fall/Winter 2016-’17 line which includes separates that can work for an evening out, plus comfortable everyday-wear. They’ve employed easy fabrics too: cotton, satin, linen, and jersey knits. And you might notice they’re big on “dramatic sleeves, sheer panels, and lots of frills”. You won’t find any loud, riotous colours either; just various hues of soft, muted tones. Did we mention it’s super affordable? The range starts at Rs 3,000 and goes up to Rs 10,000. Find it at Cordstudio.in soon, or check out the capsule collection at the Design Collective pop-up at Delhi’s Olive Bistro on July 8 and 9. By August you’ll even find it at various multi-designer outlets such as Delhi’s Ogaan and Greenr, Bangalore’s Indelust, Jaipur’s Dhora, and Themaalgadi.com among others.
