Nothing makes a photographer’s job redundant like having the combined gene pool of Shahid Kapoor and Deepika Padukone in a single frame. Posting a still from his upcoming magnum opus Padmavati, Shahid Kapoor just gifted the internet another reel life couple to hopelessly ship.
While you’re still admiring the evident chemistry between Shahid and Deepika, we just have one question on our minds — how were these two never cast opposite each other before? Seriously, look at them.
Apparently, back in 2010, director Sabir Khan had this bright idea for his film, Heer And Ranjha, but the movie was shelved and never saw the light of day. In an interview, Sabir praised the duo’s chemistry: “We opted for Deepika because we needed a face that could look contemporary and classical (for Heer And Ranjha). As for Shahid, he’s an intense actor. I’m positive this pair can project the pangs of passionate love.”
Well, we’re not doubting that one bit.
The movie is slated to be released on December 1, and needless to say, everyone’s excited to watch them on-screen for the first time ever.
