10 designer bridal ensembles for the minimal bride

M is for minimal

If you’ve been keeping up with the recently-concluded fashion weeks, you will notice one colour palette that’s dominating the runway — muted neutrals. Shades of ivory, beige, white and cream have been whipped around and transformed into elaborately-embellished ensembles that are equal parts dreamy and demure.

Though Indian weddings are a confluence of vibrant colours like vermillion, tangerine and fuchsia, this season is bringing forth a theme that’s taking inspiration from the West. Quiet, soft shades are subtly making their way into the bridal wardrobe, with the likes of Kareena Kapoor Khan, Karisma Kapoor, Sridevi Kapoor, her daughter Khushi, and Sonam Kapoor sporting the minimal trend.

Who needs bright colours when you have an opulent Manish Malhotra lehenga in beige?

Pay close attention — what else matches Sridevi’s choice of colour for her sari?

The Kapoor clan is acing this trend.

Kareena has a soft corner for soft colours.
