6 heart-stopping celebrity looks and the genius designers behind them
The past week left us on a high

Ali Younes Couture
We caught a glimpse of the Lebanese designer's love for flowing lines and beaded surface embellishments when Aishwarya Rai Bachchan wore one of his designs on the Cannes 2016 red carpet. In an interview with Arab News, Younes stated that he doesn't not like structure in his designs, choosing instead streamlined silhouettes that scream old-school glamour.

Mark Bumgarner
Looking at Mark Bumgarner's romantic designs, you'd never guess the Filipino designer used to drive race cars around the Formula One track. Bumgarner describes his style as classic with a twist, as we saw on Parineeti Chopra who has having her own 'princess moment' in this pink full-skirted gown with a giant bow at the shoulder.

Elie Saab
With designs straight out of your favourite fairytale, the Lebanese designer is rightfully the favoured designer for A-list celebrities like Taylor Swift and Sarah Jessica Parker. So it was not much of a surprise when Sonam Kapoor, who has lately been on a mission to convince people that she is actually a Disney princess in her tulle gowns and statement sleeves, wore an Elie Saab creation to the Filmfare awards. Like most Elie Saab couture creations, this design featured a unique mix of the designer's middle-eastern roots and European sensibilities, with intricate embroidery and floral appliqué giving life to this classic western silhouette.

If you spent the better part of your weekend pouring over photos of Sonam Kapoor and Jacqueline Fernandez posing on the Filmfare awards 2017 red carpet, then you may need to reassess your priorities in life. But, to be fair, Bollywood's hottest actresses (and their trusty team of stylists and make-up artists) turned on their A-game for one of the most-awaited shows in India.
Lately, we've seen an infusion of new design talent on the red carpet, and in celebrity style files, a refreshing change from the tried and tested formula that Bollywood used to favour until a few years ago. To celebrate this, we rounded up our favourite looks from the week, and highlighted the genius behind them.
Take a look through the gallery above.

Rhea Pillai Rastogi
Rhea Pillai Rastogi is an emerging favourite amongst the younger crop of Bollywood celebrities, including Jacqueline Fernandez. Sayani Gupta's red carpet choice summarises the label's design aesthetic — bold, statement pieces that do not shy away from exhibiting the female form beautifully. Pro tip while trying to spot a piece by the label, look for sheer panel detailing and monochromatic surface designs.

Moe Shour
Lebanese-born designer Mohammad Shour relocated from London to Beirut, to established his label Moe Shour in 2011. He draws inspiration from his childhood in Nigeria and mixes the vivid colours and fabrics of the country with decidedly European classic silhouettes.

Fendi
Perhaps one of the most recognisable features across the collections from the Italian fashion house is the playful twist to otherwise conventional, structured pieces. Case in point: Priyanka's pick for her upcoming appearance on the latest season of Koffee With Karan. The dress from Fendi's Resort 2017 collection featured Japanese florals heavily on the torso.
