In exciting fashion news, it’s still not acceptable to wear pyjamas to work. In other exciting fashion news, we now have three new designer stores in Mumbai, Delhi and Hyderabad to satisfy your ever-expanding shopping addiction. Raw Mango’s Mumbai store is less than 24 hours old, while Rohit Bal’s Balance made its Delhi debut mid-February. Hyderabad peeps now have an Ogaan branch all for themselves with multiple designer options to choose from.
This, in some way, settles the not-so-age-old debate about the merits of online shopping v/s actually going to a store to shop. The exciting new launches ensure that you’ll have an A+ experience aside from an update in your wardrobe.
Raw Mango, Mumbai
Sanjay Garg’s beautifully handwoven saris will now be available at Raw Mango’s newly launched flagship store in Mumbai. Spread across a sprawling 2,500sq ft near the waterfront at Colaba, the store’s ‘contemporary minimalist’ aesthetic has been conceived by the designer himself, in collaboration with interior architect Ashiesh Shah and designer Isla Maria ‘Loulou’ van Damme. The whole store is designed in a way to complement Sanjay Garg’s India-inspired philosophy, complete with terracotta horses and baithaks to aid short breaks in the middle of a shopping spree.
It presents the same restraint that Raw Mango’s designs show, presenting traditional Indian craft in a minimalist way. Head over to the Mumbai outpost to shop from a selection of saris, lehengas, jackets and dresses. This store is the only Raw Mango store that sells men’s bundis and handloom handkerchiefs, and is the label’s second stand-alone boutique after their Delhi store.

Balance by Rohit Bal, Delhi
Cheered on by the crème de la crème of Delhi, Rohit Bal launched his flagship store in the city. Set up as a quaint haveli overlooking Qutub Minar, Balance by Rohit Bal reflects the designer’s love of opulence in every corner. It has been designed by Rohit Bal, in association with Build Kraft India.
This is the designer’s third stand-alone store in India, after Hyderabad and Pune. It features his diffusion line ‘Balance’ that is a mix of prêt and couture. “It is an easy-to-wear collection at affordable prices for progressive women and men of India who are appreciative of excellent design and quality. With Balance, my endeavour is to reach as many as I can through my brand,” said Bal.
This store will also feature the label’s accessories for the first time, including ties, pocket squares, perfumes, wallets and leather bags.

Ogaan store, Hyderabad
In a three-storey bungalow in Banjara Hills, Ogaan marked its foray into Hyderabad. With the interior design helmed by Alina Vadera of AVA studio, the store is a natural extension of Ogaan’s Malcha Marg store in Delhi, dressed up in sandy tones of cream and white, a perfect canvas for the eclectic mix of designers.
Walk into the ground floor and pick your daily staples from Bodice, Pero, Lovebirds and Vrisa by Rahul and Shikha. Head up to the second floor, and after your heart is done skipping a few beats, browse the racks teaming with home girl Anushree Reddy, Payal Singhal, Kavita Bhartia and Kiran Uttam Ghosh. Pride of place is reserved for Anamika Khanna, because, Anamika Khanna. Judging by the shopping frenzy the opening night elicited, we suggest you not tarry long over picking up a favourite.
