If you’ve been keeping up with Le Mill, then your wish lists must be getting out of hand. The store recently introduced Valentino and Balmain, and also started curating a new series called the #NewIndianVoice. It kicked off with labels like Bodice by Ruchika Sachdeva and Shift by Nimish Shah back in April.
Come new season, the store will introduce Dhruv Kapoor into the fold. “We are super excited to feature more up-and-coming Indian designers at Le Mill as part of #NewIndianVoice. Dhruv’s bold aesthetic spoke to us,” says co-founder Cecilia Morelli Parikh. “We were impressed by his mastering of complex fabrics such as scuba and playtex. But in the end, we are merchants not editors, and what we recognised in the brand was a very wearable, fashion-forward collection that would resonate with our consumer.”
We’re excited about this October launch not just because Dhruv Kapoor is a label we’ve grown to love. But also because Kapoor’s silhouettes, feminine as they might be, are powerful and restrained. Even the little flourishes he chooses to add to his clothes are tough – think metallic florals and mesh inserts on structured skirts.
