Hold on to your brooms, we may have an addition to the Harry Potter universe coming our way. Author JK Rowling just ended a six month hiatus on Twitter with a cryptic tweet. Posting a graphic of a death eater skull and Slytherin House snake, she wrote: ‘Sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places #HarryPotter #CursedChild’.

Potterheads are hopeful that this tweet indicates a new instalment in the mega popular series. The play Harry Potter & The Cursed Child is set 19 years after the end of the final Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, and follows Harry, Ron Wesley and Hermione Granger’s children. The play, which debuted in London three years ago, is currently playing in Melbourne and New York. While its script has been released in a book format, the tweet hints at a movie adaptation.
