A renowned luxury fashion blogger, Masoom has taken Indian fashion to a global platform whilst hustling between Europe and India. Ahead of her participation at the three-day virtual event, find out her answers to our quick rapid fire.
ELLE: One makeup trend that you will never get tired of?
Masoom Minawala (MM): This would easily be the no-makeup look! It is not only versatile and light but also complements every outfit, mood and occasion. This trend can never go wrong, and that’s why I can never get tired of it.
ELLE: Five makeup trends you foresee gaining momentum in Fall 2021?
MM: I feel that the kitten eye and full lashes will easily be up on charts in the second half of the year. Also, I can see bold lip colours in the shades of red, plum, and berry making a comeback.
ELLE: How can someone pick the right foundation based on their skin tone?
MM: This is only a matter of many trials and errors. Over the years, I’ve tried many different brands and slightly different shades from all, and now I’ve finally come down to one that really suits my exact skin tone. I would say that when you’re trying to purchase a foundation, always try it on the neck to get the exact match to your tone.
ELLE: A lot of celebrities have been launching their own makeup lines. What is your opinion on that?
MM: I regard makeup as art that resonates on a deeper level with many people, including celebrities. So, I take them launching their own makeup lines as just their way of expressing their love for good and quality makeup.
ELLE: If given a chance, which celebrity’s makeup would you like to do and why?
MM: I would love to do Priyanka Chopra Jonas’ makeup because she’s got such great features, and I believe it must be an exciting task to cast your magic on her face to highlight those features. Plus, I love her current makeup looks!
