1. Michael Kors Appointed A New CEO

Joshua Schulman, who was previously at Tapestry Inc, has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Michael Kors. Schulman will be succeeding John D. Idol, who will now be promoted as the Executive Chairman. “I am thrilled to have Josh join Capri Holdings as CEO of the Michael Kors brand. Josh is an outstanding leader with broad retail experience, industry depth and a proven track record of successfully operating and growing luxury brands,” said John in an official press release.

Last week, the FDCI India Couture Week concluded with 19 of our leading designers showcasing their best luxury collections. Following the all-digital format, the design houses got creative with their fashion films as well as their rendition of the modern bride’s trousseau. While designers like Manish Malhotra and Anju Modi held on to their signature traditional style, couturiers Varun Bahl and Anamika Khanna pushed the envelope when it comes to Indian bridalwear.  Speaking of breaking out of boundaries, designer duo Falguni Shane Peacock presented their film shot at Taj Mahal, Agra, which makes them the first and only designers in the world to ever showcase their line at the UNESCO World Heritage.

Fashion’s favourite maximalist icon – Iris Apfel has now added a makeup line to her already overcrowded resume. In celebration of her turning into a centenarian, the living legend has partnered with makeup brand Edward Bess on a limited-edition collection of three products — a blush, lipstick and an eye shadow. It will be available on the Bess website and at the Peabody Essex Museum in Massachusetts, where Iris will be honoured.

4. International Labels Signed A New Accord To Protect Garments Workers In Bangladesh

The agreement created by Ready-Made Garments Sustainability Council (RSC) will be signed by fast fashion companies like H&M and Zara. Labels that are signing will have to commit to expanding general health and safety for workers beyond fire and building safety and human rights due diligence along with transparent supply chains will also be applicable.
