Last night at Amazon India Fashion Week, Namrata Joshipura proved we need glamour just as much we need normcore. Her FW 2015 line was aptly called Night Goddess and it was full of risqué cuts and peek-a-boo cut-outs, that reminded you of a time when a certain Jolie’s leg exploded on Twitter.
This was Joshipura’s first stab at prints. The result? Easy-on-the-eyes opium flowers spread all over skirts and pant suits. A dress with a web of velvety flowers was made sexier by revealing the teensiest hint of skin. Bindis were employed in this show too, for texturing. Bustier crop tops and smart cuts put the emphasis on the midriff again. And for every sheer-panelled or cut-out dress, there was a covered-up jumpsuit or gown with a deep neckline. Because, how else do you take back the night?
