#ELLETriesIt: Illipe Butter Mask

With all the joy that comes out of soaking up the sun, taking on a bronze tan, your hair is really in for some trouble. I realised this when the stylist at Dessange Paris inspected my hair, followed by a lot of disapproving tsk tsks. The sun’s rays leave the hair on the crown of your head dry and damaged. That explains the frizz-ball we sport this time of the year. Yet, it’s nothing that a little Illipe Butter Mask can’t fix.

The hydrating mask treatment doesn’t take up more than 30 minutes and is easy on the pocket (Rs 1,500). First, a quick inspection of my hair. Then the stylist turns her attention to my roots, massaging a clay shampoo into my scalp – the Phytodess range by the brand is completely natural, I’m told, and about 80 per cent of it is made up of organic minerals. A quick hair wash is followed by a cooling mask; the illipe butter they’re using today comes from the South Pacific, it’s known for lending long-lasting moisture to hair and skin. and sure enough my hair feels amazing for the moment, but I realise I’ll need to come back often to see long lasting results.
