Don’t let the busy Colaba road leading you to Palms Spa disappoint you. Sure, on the way to the spa the heat will get to you and the traffic will drive you insane, but once you step into the tranquil enclosure of Dhanraj Mahal, you will forget you are in Mumbai. Although in the busy area of Apollo Bunder, Palms Spa is surprisingly quiet and has a calming effect with mint green walls and dim lights.
We were recommended the signature lemongrass and green tea scrub that started off with a foot wash complete with rose petals. The 45-minute rub down that followed (initially a bit irritating if you aren’t used to rich scrubs) removed dead skin cells and the shea butter and olive oil base replenished the skin’s moisture. A calming 10-minute steam topped off the treatment leaving this ELLE staffer feeling more relaxed than ever. The only bummer was walking out of the tranquil space to be reunited with Mumbai’s noise and heat.
