After last year’s virtual affair, the Primetime Emmy Awards is back with an in-person event for its 73rd edition. The Handmaid’s Tale, The Crown, Ted Lasso, WandaVision and Mare of Easttown were top contenders. But it was The Crown and Ted Lasso that scored big. For now, we’re focusing on the most anticipated pre-event affair–the red carpet. Television’s biggest night saw our favourite stars grace their presence looking their stylish best. While 2020 delivered a mix ranging from bold and extravagant to causal silhouettes as stars accepted their awards from home, this year witnessed celebs put their best foot forward with sartorial elegance. Shades of red, yellow and black were definitely the ‘it’ colours of the night! From Emma Corrin to Kate Winslet, here are all the red carpet looks we loved from the Emmys 2021.
1. Anya Taylor-Joy
The Queen’s Gambit star stole the show in a Dior gown and Tiffany & Co. jewellery.
2. Emma Corin
The Crown actress went bold with her look. She wore a custom tube dress by Miu Miu along with a bonnet and opera gloves. The standout feature though were her long, spiky black nails!
3. Elizabeth Olsen
The WandaVision lead kept it graceful in a relaxed gown by The Row.
4. Kaley Cuoco
Here’s proof from Kaley that neon is still a red carpet hit. The Big Bang Theory actress wore a strappy gown with a thigh-high slit by Vera Wang.
5. Billy Porter
Channeling his character of Fairy Godmother from his recent movie Cinderella, Billy Porter upped the ante with his dramatic look. The celebrity chose a black Ashi Studio outfit featuring wings.
6. Mandy Moore
The singer and actress kept it simple, yet classy with a red, strappy Carolina Herrera gown.
7. Taraji P. Henson
Dazzling on the red carpet, the Empire star made heads turn with her floor-length, sheer Elie Saab gown featuring silver sequins. The best apart about her outfit? It has pockets!
8. Kate Winslet
The British star graced her presence in a black Giorgio Armani gown. She also took home the Emmy award for ‘Outstanding Actress in a Leading Role in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie’ for HBO show Mare of Easttown.
9. Sarah Paulson
Stealing the limelight on the red carpet, Sarah Paulson grabbed eyeballs in her red, puff-sleeve dress by designer Carolina Herrera.
10. Cynthia Erivo
Cynthia wowed us at the Emmys 2021. The star wore a custom white leather Louis Vuitton gown with a thin white waist belt. Blue-gree, royal blue and white feathers hand embroidered at the bottom completed the look.
11. Sophia Bush
Sophia looked like a princess in a blush-coloured Markarian gown. She paired her outfit with a red clutch and a simple necklace.
12. Gillian Anderson
The Crown star (and the winner of the Oustanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series) aced a boho-chic look. She wore custom Chloé separates featuring floor-length tassels.
13. Ellen Pompeo
The actress looked sharp in a black Elie Saab jumpsuit with padded shoulders.
14. Kerry Washington
Kerry rocked a silver corset Etro gown at the Emmys 2021 and accessorised her look with Stuart Weitzman shoes and De Beers jewels.
