Nine years after launching his eponymous label, Erdem Moralioglu has announced plans to open his first store. The Canadian-born Turkish designer has zeroed in on London as his venue of choice, and the store will be situated at Mayfair’s South Audley Street (joining the ranks of Marc by Marc Jacobs, Céline and Rick Owens).
“London was a natural choice. It is where I am based, and where I trained to do what I do. I love the space, and it’s such an exciting first step,” he said to WWD.
The store will open in March (to coincide with the label’s 10-year anniversary) with the designer’s Spring/Summer 2015 collection due to be revealed at the upcoming London Fashion Week. Designed by London-based architect P Joseph, it will be spread across 2,000 sq ft and two spacious levels. Victoria Beckham and Christopher Kane, whose debut stores are launching this fall, will be his neighbours.
