This weekend, we recommend switching your Friday night plans up and grooving to some offbeat electronica tunes at the Disrupt music festival in Mumbai. In addition to acts like Amsterdam-based experimental duo Know V.A, Mauritian curator Fourmi Rouz, and home-grown talent like BLOT, Spryk and DJ Uri, the Grammy-nominated British act Zero 7 will be making their way to the fest. Comprising Henry Binns and Sam Hardaker, Zero 7 will play a DJ set that you can warm up with right here, as part of an ELLE-exclusive collaboration.

We caught up with Sam ahead of Zero7’s debut DJ performance – this happens to be his first visit to India. “I don’t know what to expect at Disrupt but I’m really looking forward to hearing what people are playing, and experiencing Mumbai warehouse vibes. Sadly, I’m not at all clued in to the Indian music scene,” he says.
If you’re looking to discover new music, Sam has a couple of recommendations. He’s currently hooked to a London-based label called DEEK, and thinks that rising electronica star Hello Skinny is mustard (which, we were told, means good).
