Exclusive: Masaba Gupta gives us a preview of her S/S ’16 line

For her Spring/Summer ’16 line, designer Masaba Gupta borrows bits and bobs from the iconic works of French photographer Matthieu Venot (and the manner in which he employs colour) and abstracts by German artist Katrin Bremermann.

The designer known for championing quirky prints has more in store for her fans: the chhap Tilak, sliced garlic and chillies in various shapes and forms will be seen on the ramp. You can also expect pre-stitched saris, voluminous “garbage bag pants”, angarakhas layered with the traditional kurtis, and deconstructed blazers teamed with draped dhoti skirts.

That’s not all, actor Shraddha Kapoor is expected to close the show! And you win passes to meet her too. Just answer this simple question:

Which artists does Masaba Gupta turn to for inspiration?

One lucky winner will receive a couple’s pass to attend the show at Mumbai’s St. Regis Hotel (Lower Parel), on April 2, at 7.30 pm. The winner will be announced at 5 pm.
