The most buzzed about show at London Collections Men SS ’16? Without a doubt, Burberry. The show was streamed live from Perk’s Field, Kensington Gardens on Burberry.com. The front row was star-studded – as usual – but the clothes were a pleasant surprise. This was the first time a small edit of womenswear (SS ’16 Pre-Collection) was also shown. A key piece from the menswear line was the ‘Chelsea’, a trench coat with a slim fit (a new fourth fit for Burberry menswear). Actor Sonam Kapoor shares other highlights straight from the front row:
First impressions?
“Refreshing; definitely a break from the norm. Loved the play with colour and silouhettes.”
What were your favourite pieces?
“I definitely liked the forest green trench coat.”
Did you shortlist any looks for your dapper dad?
“I like to offer my help when he needs it. But, yes, my dad is very particular about his fashion choices. I think he has done well so far!”
Did you meet any cool front row-ers at the show?
“I met Louis Hamilton, Samuel L Jackson and the singer, Rhodes…there were a lot of stylish and cool people in attendance.”
The most memorable moment from the show?
“The performance by Rhodes and the 24-piece orchestra was captivating and it really captured the mood of the collection.”
Your 3 go-to places to grab a nosh in London?
“I like Assunta Madre, Chiltern Firehouse and Shoreditch House.”
A store you plan to hit in your downtime?
“I love Selfridges.”
