Exclusive: What to expect from Rahul Mishra’s couture line

Designer Rahul Mishra, who famously brought the International Woolmark Prize 2014 home, is ready to showcase his couture line at the forthcoming Amazon India Couture Week 2015. For his fall/winter line, Tree Of Life, Mishra is strongly influenced by nature. (It reminds you of his award-winning line, The Lotus Effect, in some ways.) "Tree Of Life is focused on celebrating India, with a very global feel," says Mishra. "The collection is an outcome of our ongoing commitment to handlooms and intricate hand-embroideries, which is an outcome of concerted efforts towards reverse migration of craftsmen back in to their villages from urban dwellings. It's a new step in producing slow fashion."
