The face masks celebrities swear by

Whether it’s a favourite skincare hack or go-to face mask we love a good skincare recommendation, especially when it comes from the owner of glowing skin. That’s why we’ve taken it upon ourselves to comb through our Instagram feed for the best celeb-approved skincare advice (for journalistic reasons, of course). Over the past few weeks, every celebrity has been favouring a face mask to give their skin a little TLC, some even shared their DIY mask recipe. Here’s a roundup of our favourites…

Aren’t we all guilty of slapping on a clay mask and clicking selfies like actor Athiya Shetty? If you have oily skin, clay masking should be your go-to treatment for shine control. Don’t wait for the mask to get flaky (to the point where it falls off in bits). Instead, rinse your face once the mask gets lighter in colour and still feels a little pasty.

Like us, the Chhapaak actor seems to taking her skincare routine to the next level during quarantine, first with a face roller and now this foil mask. From the outside, this one resembles Estee Lauder’s cult-favourite Advanced Night Repair Concentrated Recovery Power Foil Mask. A foil mask traps body heat to open up your pores, while the non-porous surface keeps the serum for evaporating ensuring your face absorbs most of it.

For the DIY-enthusiast follow Kareena’s at-home mask mix. It has two tablespoons of sandalwood powder with a few drops of vitamin E oil, and a pinch of turmeric. Add milk to the mixture, and apply it to your face for 20 minutes. Sandalwood and turmeric zap breakouts, while vitamin E and milk nourish skin.

Time tested rituals will stand their ground against all the new skincare launches, case in point: Ananya’s favourite yoghurt-turmeric pack. The actor sticks to her mum’s beauty reccos and mixes yoghurt, a gentle exfoliant with acne-fighting turmeric and honey.

Huma swears by ayurvedic skincare brand Forest Essential’s face masks for her clear complexion. The one she has slathered on seems to be the brand’s bestselling Facial Treatment Masque that’s laced with sandalwood that soothes skin and nagkesar that improves texture.
