The fidget spinner is now a high fashion accessory

A few months ago we reported that fidget spinners were in fashion, after models Kendall Jenner and Alanna Arrington were captured playing with them. Today, the fashion world may have reached peak fidget spinner fandom as the toy actually appeared as an accessory on the runway. Tory Burch—designer and possibly mother to children who own fidget spinners—sent model Harleth Kuusik down the runway this morning with the object dangling from a necklace. It was even emblazoned with the Tory Burch logo.

This is not the first time a designer has referenced popular culture in their collection. Jeremy Scott has practically created an entire career out of paying homage to pop culture (his Barbie and McDonald’s themed collections are two such examples). However, Tory’s nod to one of this year’s most viral obsessions felt much more subtle. In fact, surprisingly, the spinner did not look out of place among the rest of the collection’s geometric necklaces.

Did Tory Burch just make the fidget spinner a must-have accessory? At this point, nothing would surprise us.
