First look: Guppy by Ai, now in Mumbai
Japanese food and décor transforms the rustic Olive
Delhi-based eatery, Guppy by Ai, is known for its kitschy vibe, muralled walls and its signature pork belly. And now Mumbai can get a taste of it too. Starting tomorrow, the Japanese restaurant will take over Olive Bar & Kitchen’s Mahalaxmi outpost.
Helmed by Delhi head chef, Vikram Khatri, the Guppy pop-up is serving up yummy eats, including hot-stone black cod, tiger prawn tempura served with dashi spicy mayo, udon noodles tossed with mushrooms, agedashi tofu with chilli lime dressing and vegetable rice paper rolls. The menu also features an eclectic selection of Japanese-inspired cocktails.
Along with the food, the otherwise beachy al fresco restaurant’s décor, is also getting a Japanese touch.
Guppy by Ai pop-up launches at Olive Bar & Kitchen, Mahalakshmi on August 2.
Olive Bar & Kitchen, Dr E Moses Marg, Royal Western India Turf Club, Mahalakshmi Nagar, Mumbai. Tel: 022 33487711.
