Lakmé has just launched a store in Mumbai. Scratch that. They’ve just launched what they’re calling a Pro Stylist Studio, a space where you can find – and try – all their products; and it’s a first for Lakmé.
The store offers a mix of salon and retail services. There’s a community table in the middle of the store to let you sample the products, and at the back you’ll find vanity tables for more elaborate services.
Coming back to the services: You can swing by to get your hair done (for as little as Rs 500), or have your nails done (Rs 150 onwards). Best part? The neatly edited menu covers hair, skin and make-up services.
There are quick fixes for dark circles and puffy eyes (Rs 800 each); treatments to brighten and strengthen your nails (Rs 250 each). If you like a look on the Lakmé Fashion Week runway but don’t know your way around it, you can try it here with help from their make-up experts (Rs 1,500).
We spoke to make-up expert Cory Wallia, who suggests you reach for the Lakmé Absolute Skin Gloss Reflection Serum first. “The secret to a good look is good skin. When your skin is prepped, anything you do looks good.” Similarly, he suggests investing in the Lakmé 9 to 5 Crease-Less Lip Balm “which has a plumping and line-reducing action”, and pairs well with matte lipsticks.
Purnima Lamba, Head of Innovation for Lakmé says, “The Lakmé Pro-Stylist Studio is our effort to bring forth all our properties and expertise on a single platform.” The goal is also to make this a “hub for conversations on beauty and glamorous Lakmé Fashion Week looks” and make them accessible.
