This boutique is special. The Maison Lancôme, at Mumbai’s Palladium mall, puts emphasis on the experience – less like a store, more like an atelier that lets you try a bit of everything with experts around to help. Plus, it’s only the second of its kind, after the Maison Lancôme in Shanghai.
There’s a distinct space allocated to their make-up catalogue, with vibrant colours. You can get advised on which colours are right for your skin type too. Through consultations with the in house make-up expert you can learn how to master their 2-minute looks, or bridal looks even.
To help you navigate the space better they’ve organised the store range-wise. As soon as you enter you’re greeted by the L’Absolu Rouge lipsticks. They sit next to roses flown in from Paris, kept in neat cloches. Since we’re in the thick of summer, we recommend you try the new Lancôme UV Expert XL Shield sunscreen. And also keep an eye out for the range of Miracle Air de Teint foundations developed specially for Indian skin-types (they’ve bumped up the SPF to 15 but the texture is light, and blends easily).
Some of their premium products find a home here too. (You likely won’t find them at every department store.) We’re talking about the Lancôme Absolue L’Extrait, it fights wrinkles and fine lines, yes, but it also turns your beauty ritual into a wonderful experience. (It comes with a metallic, zamac spatula that you can use to massage it into your skin – they’ll show you how.)
