In the run up to the final season of Game of Thrones (GoT), we’ve heard theories ranging from the realistic to the bizarre. Speculations of which character will sit on the Iron Throne, who will be bumped off and who might be lucky enough to survive the series have dominated conversations between the GoT fandom.
Now, GoT‘s co-creators David Benioff, DB Weiss and Spotify have put together a playlist that contains a clue about the show’s end. “The answer to the ending is one hundred per cent hidden in the playlist choices,” Benioff and Weiss told For the Record, Spotify’s blog. “No one will believe us, but it’s true.”
The rock-influenced playlist, Game of Thrones: The End Is Coming (formerly named Songs of Ice and Fire) features songs such as Her Black Wings by Danzig, Sleep Now in the Fire by Rage Against The Machine, and Girl from the North Country by Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan. On the curation: “We were looking for songs that made us feel the way the show made us feel,” Benioff and Weiss told For The Record.
Season eight of Game of Thrones will premiere on April 14. Tune in to the Spotify playlist here.
