Celebrity make-up artist Namrata Soni breaks down our cover star's look

"Finish off the make-up with a deep wine and burgundy lipstick. Use it in its purest form without a lip pencil so it looks glossy. I always use lip balm under the lipstick before I apply it because it makes the lips look very luscious and hydrated. Try the Marc Jacobs lipstick in No 134 [Rs 1,947 approx]."

"Use an under-eye concealer and brighten the area with the Bobbi Brown Tinted Eye Brightener, [Rs 2078 approx]."

"Always start by prepping and priming your skin with a good illuminating primer. That is key. After you apply it, let it rest on your skin for at least 10-15 minutes so it goes deep within your pores, giving you that flawless look. I used the Tom Ford Illuminating Primer [Nordstrom.com, Rs 5,000 approx]."

"Use a nice coral blush like the M.A.C Ladyblush [Rs 1,500 approx] on the high cheekbones for a little contour. It adds a little bit of colour while adding definition."

"Then buff a bright liquid foundation; I recommend the Tom Ford Traceless Foundation [Nordstrom.com, Rs 5,500 approx] with a sponge rather than packing it into the skin. It gives you that dewy glow and makes the skin looks luminous. Also don't use powder to set the make-up, just dab a bit under the eyes if necessary and let the rest of the face shine."

"Follow this with a gold highlighter like the NARS Albatross [Rs 1,948] to accentuate the dewy look."

"Apply an eye primer on the upper eye-lids and let it sit for five minutes to set. This is important to use a primer because it doesn’t let your eyeshadow move. Then use a dull gold eye shadow and line the water line with a dull gold pencil. And then smudge it with a cotton brush. It adds soft focus and lots of drama. It lines the eyes beautifully and makes them look more powerful than the rest of your face. A great balance for the dark lip. Curl the lashes and swipe two coats of mascara." Try: Too Faced Natural Eyes pallete, Rs 2,337.

Big fan of the new bold lip trend? Here's a cool way to wear it – with sheer luminous skin. It's also what celebrity make-up artist Namrata Soni used on our cover star Kajol. "The look I went for was minimal with one stand-out feature, in this case the lips. Most women are scared of trying the red lip, it's on-trend, on catwalks right now and here's how you can do the deep red lip right," says Soni.
