The trailer of Rock On 2 has been making waves ever since its release, but it’s Shraddha Kapoor’s boho musician avatar that’s caught our eye. Seeing as we’ve officially entered party season, (hello there, Global Citizen Festival India!) we picked make-up designer Natasha Nischol’s brain for how best to steal Kapoor’s effortless rock concert look for ourselves.
“Since Shraddha plays a young bohemian musician who is fairly casual, we tried to keep it natural for the day looks. You will see her kohl-ing up her eyes for her glam outing in the song ‘Udja re’,” explains Nischol who was in charge of Kapoor’s beauty looks for the movie.
If you are looking to steal her natural look, skincare needs to be on the top of your priority list. “Good skin is half your work done! We used Bioderma Atoderm Crème on clean skin and Dermalogica Age Smart SkinPerfect primer all over the face to make the make-up last longer. A touch of the Stila Convertible Color Lip and Cheek Balm helps for a subtle blush. Otherwise, since Shraddha has such beautiful skin, it showed through naturally,” says Nischol.
Want to prep for a rock concert? Ace the grunge eye with some smudged kohl. She advises, “For a dressier look, trace your upper and lower waterline and lashline with M.A.C Smolder pencil which is a lovely black. Then using your finger, smudge the pencil and opt for a thick black eye-shadow to set it in. For the diva red lip, use a mix of liquid lipstick and a trusty matte. Add a light coat of shimmer and mascara to your lashes and voilà! You’re ready to take on the night, à la Shraddha.”
