Mattel released Gigi’s Barbie to celebrate Tommy X Gigi’s second collection. The mini-Gigi can be seen rollerblading down Malibu with Barbie, twinning in matching cut-offs and T-shirts with the Tommy Hilfiger’s logo, taking selfies outside ‘Tommyland’, which is basically Venice Beach converted into an amusement park of sorts for the runway show (complete with rides, musical performances and the works). In other shots, Mini Gigi wears a piece from TommyX Gigi’s SS’17 collection (in India stores now) as she explores Tommyland.
While many may argue that Gigi looks like a human version of Barbie, in that she has a perfect figure, hair and looks flawless at all times, but seeing the Barbie version of her is still pretty cool, especially the resemblance.
She joins celebrities like Ashley Graham and Zendaya, who have their own version of Mattel’s Barbie dolls in the ‘Sheroes’ series that feature real women. Gigi’s doll is not up for sale yet.
